The Bakken oil fields of western North Dakota continue to draw workers to areas with limited housing. In response to this need, Capital Lodge, LLC, is constructing a crew camp in Tioga, North Dakota, that will ultimately accommodate 2,500 housing units (according to the North Dakota State Department of Health it will be the 16th largest city in the state when it is fully built out).
Morrison-Maierle partnered with Capital Lodge to provide technical services for topographic surveying, water supply, well installation, water distribution, sewer collection, and sewer treatment and disposal design. The new crew camp has been designed to meet North Dakota’s State Department of Environmental Quality standards. These camps, though small in footprint, require the same engineering and planning work that a full-scale housing development would need related to water, sewer, electricity, and roads.
