Sam Kavanagh promoted to Kalispell Development Market Group position
Morrison-Maierle is pleased to announce that Sam Kavanagh has been promoted as the Development Market Group Office Leader in the Kalispell office. He was previously with the company in its Bozeman office.
Sam graduated from Montana State University in 2004 and has developed his interests in bio-resource and civil engineering through many of the firm’s projects in the Big Sky area. He enjoys being out in the field and overseeing projects like his work with Spanish Peaks.
In 2005, Sam lost his left leg in an avalanche. He spent time rehabilitating and competed for the U.S. national cycling team in the 2012 Paralympic Games in London. From there, he started a career as a motivational speaker where he traveled extensively throughout the country. In 2013, he returned to Montana and came back to Morrison-Maierle.
As far as employee-ownership is concerned, Sam had this to say about the firm’s recent move to 100% ownership: “Transitioning to 100% employee ownership solidifies our dedication to the men and women that make Morrison-Maierle. Now more than ever our work should reflect our personal commitment to the places where we live and work that align our mission with our founders; to build better communities.”
Sam and his wife, Sara, are parents to their daughter, Amelia, 8, and son, Nolan, 6. In addition to cycling, he enjoys telemark skiing and backpacking.
