Mike Carlson

Mike Carlson is a senior airport planner with experience supporting commercial and general aviation airport projects across planning, preliminary design, environmental compliance, and specialty studies. His focus includes long-range master plans, environmental reviews, and the development of strategies that help airports meet both current needs and future goals.

Mike is passionate about the planning process and the opportunity to bring together stakeholders, decision-makers, technical experts, and the public to create a shared vision for the future. He enjoys thinking long-term, building consensus, and identifying practical solutions that turn ambitious goals into achievable outcomes. “Airports are vital to our communities, and I feel privileged to be involved in making them safer, more efficient, and more enjoyable,” he says.

Outside of work, Mike stays active in his community by volunteering with his church, serving as a sound technician, and participating in missions. He enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, including backpacking, boating, fly-fishing, and hunting.
