Andy Galen
Andy is a senior airport engineer with experience in both general aviation and air carrier airport facilities in Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming. His airport design background includes both airside and landside projects, including runways, taxiways, taxi lanes, aprons, hangars, airfield lighting, fencing, parking lots, water, sewer, and utilities.
In addition to design work, Andy is also well-versed in on-site construction management for airport projects. He also has years of experience preparing grant applications for FAA-funded AIP projects.
As for his projects, he enjoys seeing them go from concept to completion in a short time. “I also enjoy seeing the overall benefit airports bring to the communities we serve. Airports truly are an amazing connection to the rest of the world!” he says.
Aviation is one of Andy’s professional and personal passions—in addition to his work as an engineer, he’s also a licensed pilot. He is a member of the Sleeping Giant Flying Club in Helena and predominantly flies a Cessna 182 or Bellanca Citabria.
Andy is also involved in company, professional, and personal groups. He’s a charter member of Morrison-Maierle Employee Ownership Committee and the company hockey team. His professional involvement includes the Montana Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers, where he served as treasurer; the Northwest Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives; the Wyoming Airports Coalition; and the Washington Airport Management Association. He’s also a Third Degree, Knight of Columbus.
When not at work, Andy and his wife spend their spare time with their daughter in Helena.
