Joe Hughes Named to Leadership Role

We are excited to announce that Joe Hughes has stepped into a leadership role as Buildings Market Group Office Leader for our Bozeman office.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer and licensed Professional Engineer in Alaska, Montana, Wyoming, and Nevada, Joe brings extensive experience in the survey, selection, design, maintenance, and integration of HVAC, hydronic, and plumbing systems. His work spans commercial, institutional, and industrial buildings, including both new construction and renovation and retrofit projects. Joe is passionate about designing efficient, sustainable systems that meet the unique needs of each project while delivering long-term value to clients and communities.

For Joe, one of the most rewarding aspects of his work is seeing the impact projects have on the communities they serve. He particularly enjoys driving around Bozeman and pointing out projects he helped bring to life. One project that stands out is the Bozeman High School football stadium, which Joe worked on and will have an especially personal connection to in the coming years—his son will be playing football there.

Joe’s professional philosophy closely aligns with Morrison-Maierle’s mission to create solutions that build better communities. He finds it especially rewarding to contribute to projects that add value to the community and see their impact firsthand. His work is guided by a commitment to practical, efficient, and sustainable solutions that serve communities for years to come.

Beyond his professional work, Joe is actively involved in the Bozeman community. He has supported his local chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) through fundraising and involvement. Over the years, he has also supported organizations including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Big Sky Youth Empowerment, Thrive, and Warriors and Quiet Waters.

Joe’s involvement in youth sports is another important part of his connection to the community. He has been involved with Bozeman Baseball for many years and has coached for five years, including coaching an all-star team for the past three. Through his professional work and community involvement, Joe is committed to helping create stronger communities both on and off the job.
