Shawn Evilsizor Receives DBIA Certification

We’re proud to announce that Shawn Evilsizor, Morrison-Maierle Senior Structural Engineer and Bend Buildings Market Group Office Leader, has completed the Design-Build Institute of America’s comprehensive education and certification testing program to achieve the design-build industry’s highest designation as a nationally certified Design-Build Professional®.

DBIA Certification is the nation’s only measurable standard of an individual’s knowledge of the Design-Build Done Right® principles vital to successful project delivery. By completing these requirements, which touch on all aspects of design-build, candidates earn the right to display “DBIA” after their names, identifying them as experienced design-build professionals.

Shawn has enjoyed using design-build principles while working on the City of Bend Public Works Campus, a $120M progressive design-build project. He says, “This project work helped me to see how much more streamlined the design-build process can be. We could leverage the strengths of everyone on the team to create value and minimize rework,  which further maximized accountability. It was a breath of fresh air compared to design-bid-build.”
