Shawn Evilsizor was recently named the Bend office’s new Buildings Market Group Office Leader (MGOL). A senior structural engineer, he starting working for us in January 2022.

As a graduate of the University of Buffalo (SUNY), Shawn earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees and is a licensed civil engineer (PE) and structural engineer (SE). As a relatively new employee-owner, Shawn says he “is thankful to have such a hard-working team of individuals who strive to provide an excellent product and service to our clients.” In his new role, he’s looking forward to working with Arian Bloomfield and Eric Webber to grow the buildings group within Bend and beyond.

Shawn has been pulled into several projects this last year but says the new City of Bend Public Works Campus at Juniper Ridge – a $120M project consisting of a warm vehicle storage building, a mass timber headquarters building, and a fleet maintenance facility – has been especially notable. This project uses the “progressive design/build” delivery method, which relies on frequent team collaboration in a colocation space located at the contractor’s HQ building.

He says he got to “experience my first annual meeting not long after starting at MMI. I really enjoyed the opportunity to meet/chat with coworkers to learn more about them and see their personalities outside of the workplace. It was also clear that this was the first annual meeting in a few years due to COVID when you walked by the bar and heard it popping! What a great time!”
