Intermountain Health West End Clinic
Expanding healthcare access for a growing community
The new Intermountain Health West End Clinic brings comprehensive care to one of the fastest-growing areas of Billings. For years, patients on the west side had to navigate several smaller, scattered clinics across town to meet their needs. Now, with this purposefully built 60,000 sq. ft. medical office building, Intermountain has consolidated primary care, walk-in services, and specialty care into one convenient location.
Morrison-Maierle partnered with Collaborative Design Architects to provide the facility’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing, ICT, and fire protection design. With healthcare-specific expertise and a longstanding presence in Billings, our team helped deliver a clinic designed for flexibility and future growth. The building’s second floor remains unfinished, ensuring Intermountain can expand services as the community’s needs evolve.

Meeting a Growing Demand
Billings’ west end has become a hub for new development, including a nearby medical college and other healthcare providers. Intermountain’s new clinic positions the area as a true medical corridor. The facility offers weekday primary care by appointment, daily walk-in services, and space for new specialties, including a gynecologic oncology practice that will serve patients across Montana and Wyoming.
Our design team worked under tight timelines to meet Intermountain’s goal of delivering this facility as soon as funding and development pieces aligned. The result is a streamlined, efficient clinic that meets today’s needs while leaving room to grow with the community.
Local Knowledge, Seamless Delivery
Although the project involved an out-of-state developer, Morrison-Maierle’s local team ensured the design met the realities of Montana’s climate and healthcare codes. For example, while a developer might assume rooftop boiler systems are standard, our engineers recommended alternatives better suited to Billings’ weather and long-term operations.
With over 15 years of experience working together—and deep familiarity with Intermountain’s design preferences—our healthcare engineers delivered a smooth process with minimal design changes or delays.
