Hot Springs County Cemetery District – Monument Hill Water Tank
Thermopolis, WY
Morrison-Maierle was hired by the Hot Springs County Cemetery District to conduct an evaluation of its two existing water storage tanks (46,000 gallons each) and the Monument Hill cemetery irrigation system. Our investigation included completing a computer hydraulic model of the irrigation system and evaluating two options for upgrades. Option 1 was replacement of the existing tanks with a single tank and new pump station. Option 2 was to rehabilitate the existing tanks and existing pump station. After careful consideration of costs and on-going maintenance, the District elected to construct Option 1.
Morrison-Maierle then prepared the design for a new water tank and new pump station and building for the Monument Hill cemetery irrigation system. Design drawings and technical specifications were prepared to construct a new 88,000-gallon, glass-lined, bolted-steel storage tank, pump station and building.
Other work items included surveying, a geotechnical investigation, new pump controls, mechanical, electrical, structural engineering, construction observation and administration. The new tank and pump station were placed into service in April 2016.
