Ronan Health Center
Expanding Access to Comprehensive Healthcare
The Ronan Health Center was developed to expand access to healthcare services for the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribe while creating a modern, adaptable healthcare environment capable of serving the community for years to come.
The healthcare facility was designed to provide a comprehensive range of services, including patient care rooms, procedure rooms, laboratory space, offices, isolation rooms, and pharmaceutical areas. Phase two introduced physical therapy and fitness facilities, adding a rehabilitation gym, private treatment rooms, and dedicated fitness areas designed to support recovery and holistic wellness.
Connecting the Community through Collaboration
The Ronan Health Center project also created opportunities beyond healthcare delivery. Because of the clinic’s proximity to Ronan High School, the project team partnered with teachers to introduce students to careers in architecture, engineering, and construction. Students attended classroom presentations and participated in guided construction site visits, gaining firsthand insight into the design and construction process.

Located on a 4-acre site in Ronan, Montana, the approximately 13,100-square-foot facility required a fully integrated engineering approach involving site civil, structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection disciplines. Morrison-Maierle provided engineering services throughout design, bidding, and construction administration for this two-phase $10 million project.
The completed Ronan Health Center demonstrates how integrated engineering and collaborative planning can support healthcare access, infrastructure improvements, and long-term community development simultaneously. Through thoughtful system coordination and future-focused design, the project helps strengthen healthcare delivery for the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribe while supporting the broader Ronan community.
