Gunnar Getchell
Gunnar Getchell knows that oftentimes surveyors are the first and last ones to work on engineering projects; they gather the data engineers use to create their designs, stake the project for construction, and perform as-built surveys after construction. That’s why as our Survey Market Group Leader, he leads his team with a start-to-finish focus to ensure project success.
Over his over 40-year career, Gunnar has specialized in various survey types. These include MDT highway and bridge, utility transmission corridors, USFS cadastral, infrastructure design surveys for cities and towns, FEMA floodplain mapping, and boundary and easement surveys on Indian Reservations.
Years of experience haven’t diminished his enthusiasm for surveying, and he says that he finds survey work extremely rewarding. “From working in the great outdoors throughout Montana and Wyoming to finding original stone survey monuments set in the late 1800s to seeing infrastructure and development projects built from our survey mapping and staking efforts, I feel extremely lucky to work with a talented group of employee-owners on all types of survey projects.”
