Community Support in 2021
To us, the phrase “building better communities” does not stop with our projects. We actively look for ways to give back to the people and places where we live, work, and play. In 2021, we contributed approximately $172,035.47 to causes that we’re passionate about.
We are also fortunate to have many employee-owners who contributed individually to help improve life in their communities. Here are just a few examples of the many goodwill efforts and community giveback initiatives that took place in 2021.
A Season of Sharing
Back for a second year, our “Season of Sharing” holiday campaign focused on supporting causes in our communities.
With input from our friends, clients, and partners, we supported three community organizations—Special Olympics, NAMI, and CASA.
Through this effort we gave $6,200 to Special Olympics, $6,800 to NAMI, and $7,000 to CASA.
Individual Giving

On a smaller scale, our employee-owners are committed to supporting the causes and charities that they are passionate about. From themed food drives, to adopting six families for the holidays, to volunteering with the Food4Kids and United Way Day of Change programs—we found a multitude of ways to give back in 2021.
Act Like an Owner Directed Donations
In 2021, the Employee Ownership Committee announced a new peer-to-peer recognition program—Act Like an Owner. This program allows employee-owners to recognize their colleagues for actions that demonstrate an “ownership mindset.”
All employee-owners were given the choice: should nominees receive a cash gift card, a small gift, or the opportunity to direct a donation to the charity of their choosing? Employee-owners overwhelmingly chose to allow award winners to direct a donation to the charity of their choice. Through this effort, Morrison-Maierle has given to 65 different charities. Although each is deserving, the charities vary widely in how they choose to support communities.
